Her path into education began through work as a counselor supporting children and families in a domestic violence shelter — an experience that shaped her understanding of emotional safety, resilience, and the importance of truly seeing each child.
She later transitioned into education, where she has spent decades creating nurturing, engaging environments tailored to each child’s individual needs. Her approach blends structure and creativity, drawing from both traditional and progressive practices.
At Vida, Leslie plays a vital role in both the emotional and operational fabric of the school. As Safety Coordinator, she has led the community through complex and uncertain moments with clarity and steadiness — ensuring that children and families feel supported, prepared, and safe.
