The Spanish program at Vida invites students to engage with language as a living, cultural experience rather than a set of rules and vocabulary lists to memorize.
From TK through 6th grade, students meet weekly with our Spanish specialist to build vocabulary and develop conversational fluency. Lessons draw on art, folk stories, music, dance, and pop culture to introduce students to the traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. Creative lesson planning has students writing their own children’s literature, filming original telenovela scripts, and building ofrendas for our yearly Dia De Los Muertos celebrations. Our goal is for Vida students to be able to read, write, fully comprehend basic Spanish while building an appreciation for the cultures that shape the language.
